Haarlem
Hello Holland! After travelling from Omaha, Boston and Dublin, we finally arrived in Amsterdam. After a short taxi ride to Haarlem, we reached our hotel just in time for our tour orientation. (I cannot even explain the feeling of anticipation we felt that our tour time was finally here and that we were in Europe for the first time!)
After the meeting we freshened up before our walking tour with a local, resident guide of this charming little Dutch city.
We had our first group meal together that evening, a traditional Indonesian meal of Rijsttafel.
Outside of our hotel was Harrlem's central square; the heart of the city.
Also known as Grote Kerk or the "Great Church" on Grote Markt.
